Research Group on Mainland China Studies

ˇ@ˇ@The development of economy and society in Mainland China has prompted international concern in 21st century. China research has also joined the mainstream in the international and Taiwan academic community. Since the connection between the two straits has become closer, studies on the development of Chinaˇ¦s politics, economy, and society is more important to Taiwan. Therefore, relative courses and research should be enhanced within campus.
ˇ@ˇ@NDHU is located on the east coast of Taiwan. Compared to the universities on the west coast, the research resources we have are much fewer. In order to take an important part in this field with the limited resources, we plan to develop our teaching and research through the cooperation among the Institute of Public Administration, the Department of Economics and Institute of International Economics, the College of Management, and the College of Indigenous Studies.

1. Prepare and activate an undergraduate interdisciplinary program for mainland China studies to produce outstanding researchers in this field.
2. Promote researches on the economy, politics, and social law of mainland China.
3. Propel academic interaction and cooperation.
4. Encourage our faculty to carry out relevant researches and to publish the fruits of their researches in domestic or international journals.

ˇ@ˇ@By integrating human and equipment resources within NDHU, we expect to enhance our researches and to improve our international reputation and leadership in the field of China research.
